Supporting STEM Career Exploration with Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools
Robotics and artificial intelligence are shaping the future workforce, and early exposure plays a critical role in helping students see what is possible. Recently, our team participated in a Career Fair within Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools (CMS), engaging with approximately 250 eighth-grade students to introduce them to careers in robotics, AI, and emerging technologies. The event, hosted at Bailey Middle School in Cornelius, NC, provided students with hands-on exposure to real-world robotics applications and interactive technology.
Bringing Robotics and AI to Life for CMS Students
Students had the opportunity to interact directly with two advanced robotics platforms:
ZOX CarryX, an autonomous delivery robot, demonstrated how automation and smart navigation systems are used in industries such as hospitality, healthcare, and commercial environments.
ZOX SocialBot, an interactive greeting robot, engaged students in conversation and shared insights about careers in engineering, programming, design, marketing, and technology development.
These live demonstrations helped students understand that robotics is not science fiction. It is a rapidly growing industry creating real career opportunities in Charlotte and across the country.
Strengthening STEM and Workforce Awareness
Career exploration at the middle school level helps students connect their interests to future pathways. Skills such as problem-solving, creativity, communication, and critical thinking are foundational to careers in robotics, artificial intelligence, software development, and technology innovation.
By partnering with Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools, we are able to support STEM education locally while contributing to broader workforce development efforts.
As Charlotte continues to grow as a technology and innovation hub, investing in early STEM exposure helps prepare the next generation of engineers, developers, and leaders.
Looking Ahead
Our office is proudly based in Charlotte, and we value opportunities to collaborate with schools and organizations throughout the region. At the same time, we are always open to partnering with educational institutions and community programs in other cities and states that are looking to bring robotics and AI career exploration to their students.
If your school or organization is interested in hosting a robotics demonstration or STEM career event, we welcome the opportunity to connect. Please reach out to us at info@zoxrobotics.com to learn more.
